SENDD assists member communities with various types of planning activities including:  community needs surveys and identification, income surveys, and grants for planning studies.  These planning activities help communities determine what their priorities are, which then enables them to put together action plans to implement solutions.

Planning grants often assist communities with obtaining data or preliminary engineering reports on many different topics, including:  housing, municipal sewer systems, downtown revitalization, street improvements, and water studies, etc.  This information puts the community in a position to request additional grant funding to implement projects.  SENDD staff is able to utilize this information to prepare project applications to potential funding sources.

Planning is an important part of any community project.  Community involvement in this process is not only important, but required by many funding agencies.  SENDD staff assists many communities in completing these activities successfully.
