Our Story

The SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT (SENDD) is a voluntary association of counties and municipalities, formed under the Nebraska Interlocal Cooperation Act, with a focus in community, economic, and housing development that identifies common problems, their solutions, and to provide continuing support for efficient and effective government among its members.

SENDD NebraskaSENDD is located at 7407 O St in Lincoln, NE but also has a secondary location in Auburn, 919 Central Ave. SENDD’s region consists of 16 counties, including Butler, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Polk, Saline, Saunders, Seward, Richardson, Thayer, and York, and represents 155 communities, with 75% having fewer than 500 residents. Cumulatively, SENDD’s area is over 9,300 square miles. and culture in the region. The district’s proximity to Lincoln and Omaha Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) influences development for much of the region. The SENDD region’s population has remained relatively stable since 2000.
